Happy Holidays: The Glory of Christmas Revealed!

Happy Holidays: The Glory of Christmas Revealed!

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John1:14

May your holidays, which literally is derived from holy days, be filled with joy this season and may the Lord fill you with His wondrous Spirit!

In the above scripture John, who was with, the Christ, meaning the anointed one, on the holy mount along with Peter and James during the transfiguration of Jesus speaks of beholding his glory. In Matthew’s gospel he tells of it here:

And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them; and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. Matthew 17:1-2

Jesus came preaching a radical new doctrine to the Jews who had many rules and laws about conduct in their law.  But he showed them with their own scriptures that there was a much deeper meaning in the Word of God. John says in the opening verse, above, that, the Christ, was literally the Word made flesh!

Jesus is literally, the light of the world, it says in the scriptures and this is easy to understand when you know God is love, light and Spirit! When the Christ became transfigured it was because he was filled with the Light of God, One with God!  He tells us he was One, in John 17 and there he prays, first for his disciples and then for us; that we too may be one with he and the Father.

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Glory to God!  It is no wonder all things are possible if one is literally, One with God and Christ!  Jesus tells us clearly, with God all things are possible, in Matthew 19:26 and he also gives a great deal of instruction about, faith!

Everything in the kingdom of God works by faith.  Christ tells us over and over that we must have faith, it is done unto you as you believe, to only believe!  In the book of Mark, after Jesus had cursed the fig tree because it had no figs on it, the next morning Peter who was with him at the time noticed the tree had dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. And Jesus answering saith unto them,

Have faith in God.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them. Mark 11:21-24

Jesus was showing Peter how faith operates, that you must speak whatever it is you desire, believing that what you say shall come to pass, without doubting in your heart, the center of your very being! Then, when questioned by Peter he clearly tells him how to speak the word, to have your desires manifest by faith!  Telling him, he also tells us clearly that it is, whosoever shall say!

This is powerful instruction on how the kingdom operates by faith!  Christ also tells us in the, parable of the sower, The sower soweth the word. Matthew 4:14 The word is the very Word of God, which includes knowing God is with you, receiving Christ’s words because he is speaking the Word of God, having faith, loving God with all of your heart and mind and others as you would yourself. Plus, listening for the Holy Spirit to reveal all things to you!  Then when the Word is sown on good ground, which is in you, a receptive person, it accomplishes this:

And these are they which are sown on good ground, such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? And not to be set on a candlestick?

For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. Mark 4:20-23

So, we are not to simply take in the Word and do nothing with it.  We are to take it in and then let it manifest good fruit!  Knowing God is with us makes all things possible, plus doing his word, abiding in love, having faith, speaking the word, believing that which we speak shall come to pass, then the power of God will truly be released!

The Holy Spirit will guide us if we allow it to and believe in Christ! Believing in Christ is good but He tells us, And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is like:

He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock; and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. Luke 6:46-48

So, he expects us to not only believe in him but to do what he says!

The Word of God is filled with power and the Christ has given us instruction on how the kingdom operates.  He also tells us where the kingdom of God is found.

The kingdom of God cometh not with observation.

Neither shall they say, Lo here! Or, lo there! For behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:20-21

This holiday season is upon us, and a glorious season it is but the real glory is found by looking beyond the superficial seen world to the wondrous realm of the unseen! The real glory of Christmas is revealed by accepting Christ and his teachings and doing them!

Until next time, may you all be blessed and may we all truly be filled with the Spirit this season!
