God is Light

God is Light!

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

1 John 1:5-7

There are many references in the Bible about God and light which help explain the relationship we are seeking, a oneness with God!  There are also references explaining that God is love in the same book here, He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:8

This should help us to understand that simply loving Jesus is not sufficient,  we must love others also, abide in love, yes, we must actually dwell in love the scriptures say.  If people truly love Jesus then they will do what he commanded, love one another, for then is when we truly walk in the light!

No man hath seen God at any time.  If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

Hereby know we that we dwell in him and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the savior of the world.

Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 1 John 4:12-17

Peter too, spoke about, his marvelous light, in 1 Peter 2:9, But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, and holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

This marvelous light is not simply a metaphor as we see in the Transfiguration of Christ.

And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. Matthew 17:1-2

This wondrous light, the very light of God, is the very power of God, overflowing, manifesting in the Son and apparently is one of the characteristics of God, Light!

As many of you know, I am the son of a literally illumined minister who while trying to do as Jesus commanded, that is, to love God with all of your heart and love others, became illumined which I told about in, The Light, Commentary on the Light, and in the book, The Realm, chapter 7, The Event.  So, I know by visual confirmation that the light spoken of in the scriptures is not just a metaphor, but is actual light.

Why does this matter?  The reason I mention this is because the light manifested because of loving thoughts, a realization of oneness with God/Christ which shows there is a higher level we can reach.  The same night the light began, he had a feeling of complete harmony and said he felt an overwhelming exuberance, clearly this was a spiritual breakthrough.  It also shows that God knows what you are thinking and responds!  This is huge but is not a surprise or shouldn’t be because the scriptures clearly state that God knows what you are thinking.

I the LORD (capitalized in my Bible) search the heart. I try the reins; even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.  Jeremiah 17:10

So, the believer already knows that God is Light because the scriptures say so and we believe by faith. The ones I am speaking to when I speak of witnessing the light are those who may be on the fence wondering if there is anything to this, God stuff.  I am telling them and the world that God is Light and there is no darkness in Him at all, that this, “stuff”, about God is absolutely true.

I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.  Jesus from John 8:12

Jesus also spoke of us as being, children of the light here.

While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.  John12:36

This light is the very light of life which the Christ spoke of which must fill our very being, for God is love and light.  Then astonishingly, love grows as we give it away.  The light and the love work together, both as one, so when you are spreading love you are literally sharing the very light of God!  Paul too, along with Jesus, Peter, and John spoke of the light.

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:  Ephesians 5:8

Yes, Paul spoke to the Corinthians, the Ephesians, the Colossians, the Galatians, to all of them he spoke of, walking in the light.  To the Colossians he said.  Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.  Colossians 1:12

Which brings me to another point I have pondered.  Are the halos depicted glowing above the saints an actual light manifestation which occurs when a person is so full of the light of God, the light of life?  I think they probably are.

Of course all of us, science has shown have an, aura, that is, a glow coming from us on a natural level.  Is this enhanced through spirituality when we are aware that God Is in us, Christ Is in us, we are one with the Father, Christ and one another?  It certainly seems this is the mark we are aiming for, being one, as Jesus prayed we would be in John 17:21.

That they all may be one as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.  Jesus from John 17:21

When we actually truly believe the power of God is in us and we are in God, then does a marvelous spiritual breakthrough occur?  It is known that we only use a portion, about 10% of our mind.  What is the rest for?  Is it to use as a modem to connect with God, which is in and through all things?  Just some questions I ponder which I know soon will be answered.

The scriptures too tell us in Revelation that those who overcome and are faithful unto death will receive a crown of life.  John who is the writer, also quoted this as part of his revelation.

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.  Revelation 3:5

I find all of the references about, the light, in the scriptures fascinating and I know that God is Light!  So, let us all be children of the light, helping one another, walking in love.  This is how we do the word, which I spoke of last time.  We share our light with others, being thankful and filled with love for when we are filled with love, then our light shines brightly!

Until next time, light and love to all.  May you all be blessed, filled and empowered!
