Happy Easter: I Am the Resurrection and the Life.

I Am the Resurrection and the Life

I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.  Believest thou this? John 11:25

This statement was made by Jesus to Martha prior to raising Lazarus from the dead, after Lazarus had been in the tomb for four days. Martha wished that Jesus had come prior to Lazarus dying because she knew Jesus could heal the sick but when Jesus told her Lazarus would rise again she thought he meant in the final resurrection, which the Jews believed in. Jesus then told her that he was the resurrection and the life.   Then, Jesus, did command Lazarus to come out of the tomb and Lazarus came out wearing grave clothes.  The scriptures tell us, Jesus told them to loose him, to undo the grave clothes which were wrapped in strips.  So, what does this statement mean?  I Am the resurrection and the life.

There is another set of verses earlier in the chapter of John which explains about this verse.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do, for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

For the Father loveth the Son and showeth him all things that himself doeth and he will show him greater works than these that ye may marvel.

For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. John 5:19-21

So, Jesus, oneness with the father was how real, “life”, came about. He tells us that the power comes from the Father, that he can do nothing of himself.  All power is given to the Son because the Father loves the Son.  Then he commands a dead person to live, demonstrating that what he says is true!

This is Easter week when we rejoice in the power of the resurrection of the Christ.  Jesus traveled on to Jerusalem after resurrecting Lazarus at Bethany, where he knew, he too would die and rise again!

He did this to show us the way to real, life!  He also tells us that if we believe in him, understanding that all that he says is true, live as he lived, loving God, doing his will, which is loving, abiding in love, for God is love, then we will be truly alive and never die! Glory to God!  For God is light, love and spirit which never dies.  Jesus proclaims that he is the very light of life, here.

I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.  John 8:12

Jesus too, showed humanity that he still lives and tells us we too shall, if we only believe.  Jesus also told us that if we ask anything in his name, he would do it, which should leave us completely without fear.  Yes, everything in the spiritual realm works by faith!  That is what, “believing”, is, having faith in what you believe to be true; in this case believing in what God’s Word says is true.   Here is what Jesus said:

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me, or else believe me for the very works sake.

He did not care how you came to believe; he said believe because of the very works, the miracles, which he performed which proved God was with him, or just believe his words, which are God’s words.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I  do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:11-15

Jesus then later in the book of John prays for us all to be one as He and the Father are one here.

Neither pray I for these alone, (the disciples) but for them also which shall believe on me through their word (us):

That they all may be one as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one;

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.  John 17:20-23

This is the great truth of the resurrection, that new life is given to mankind as a gift, the light of life!  This year, at Easter and throughout the year, may we all be filled with the love of God and Christ.  May we be beacons of hope, fountains of living water, loving God and one another!  We were given an amazing love lesson, an intense course on who God is and what our relationship should be like with God when Jesus laid down his earthly body for us.  The good news is, He’s Risen!

Faith or fear: The Daily Choice of Life

Faith or Fear: A Daily Choice of Life

Have not I  commanded thee?  Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.  Joshua 1:9

Each day we are faced with our faith or lack thereof, choices to be rattled by what appears to be in life, or to stand fast with the knowledge that God is always with us, to remain faithful, especially in the face of adversity.

Jesus came to show, first the Jew and then the gentile how to live life, how to walk with God, as one, using the word of God to call things which were not as though they were, saying we would do the works that he does if we believe on him.

Verily, verily, I say unto you.  He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also: and greater works than these shall he do: because I go unto my Father.

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it,

If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:12-15

So then, if in fact we believe the scriptures, there is only one available choice for the believer.  If I want to live righteously, then the choice is to turn from fear and live by faith, not by sight.

For we walk by faith, not by sight: 2 Corinthians 5:7

Then the scriptures explain a little more about the unseen realm where we must do our spiritual work.

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

Knowing this, that what appears to be is only that, we are armed with the knowledge that God is always with us, even Christ, who is our advocate, is available to cast out any fear.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear; 1John 4:18

Since God is love, as stated in 1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.  And God is light, which is stated in 1 John 1:5, then we too know we must be filled with this love to truly walk as one.  Then our heart will not be condemned causing us to be ineffective, contrarily, we are told that we will have the petitions that we desired, that is, our prayers will be answered.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us;

And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 1 John 5:13-15

This is a really big deal which may explain why John also wrote about this a couple of pages earlier.

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart and knoweth all things.

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

And whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1 John 3:20-22

Therefore, being justified by faith, with a new understanding of who we are, we should walk by faith, doing as the word says, Fear not!  Glory to God, this changes everything once you are in walking in God/Christ and they in us!

Jesus came filled with power, showing us how to access the kingdom of God by faith.  He walked as one with the Father and prayed we too, be one.

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word: (us)

That they all may be one as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that thou has sent me.

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one;

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. John 17:20-23

Until next time, may we all walk as one, filled with the power and love of God.  May you remember who you are when faced with the daily choice of faith or fear and choose faith.  Glory to God!  Be blessed!  Light and love to all!

Calling those things which be not as though they were

(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.. Romans 4:17

This verse, which is a rather famous one, is a very important one because it shows how the kingdom of God works for the believer!  God looks at the end result of what he desires and then speaks it into existence like He did throughout the Bible, from the very beginning in Genesis.  Christ also did the same and instructed us to do likewise.  Every time he performed a miracle he said, the end result, believing, knowing, that it would come to pass.  Everything in the kingdom works by faith but this seems like foolishness to those who are living in the carnal, natural world.

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are.  1 Corinthians 1:28

In the opening verse the scriptures are referring to the, faith, of Abraham.  This it says later in Romans.

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.  Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.  Romans 4:20-25

So, we too are justified by faith, believing, we are filled with the Spirit of God!  This is a really big deal because if we are walking by faith and not by sight we are free from fear and any sort of bondage.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  And if children then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Romans 8:14-17

This literally opens up a whole new world to the believer but those who live in the natural do not understand these things since this is spiritually discerned.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  1 Corinthians 2:14

So, what are the, things of God?  Certainly, the manifestations of faith would be one.  How can we expect to have prayer answered or call those things which be not, whether it be health, peace, or a lack in any area without believing?  We are told by Jesus this:

Therefore, take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:31-33

The last entry I posted, was on, The Keys of the Kingdom.  Included in, The Keys of the Kingdom were, the Word, love, because God is love, and faith, to open up the kingdom to you.  Without the Word, it would be very difficult indeed to know how to access this kingdom spoken of which must be found by searching within.  But we are given the Word so we can rap our mind around how to access the invisible to bring about the visible.  Glory to God!

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find, knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.  Matthew 7:7-8

This spiritual principle of, calling things which are not as though they were, will change your life!  For when we understand that this power is available to us all through the indwelling power of God, nothing is impossible!  This is what Jesus was telling us when he instructed us on, how, to come to God.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them. Mark 11:23-24

Here we see that you are to ask for what it is you desire, believing you receive it. So, we are to expect what it is we desire, health, peace, sufficient finances, etc.  We must also control our mouth and thoughts, for these things are filled with power, either good or bad.  We are not to speak the problem but look away from the problem to the answer.  Then the very power of God moving in the unseen, will indeed change the situation.  Notice too in the above scripture how many times Jesus talks about what it is you are, “saying”.  We are told to, say, be removed to the mountain, believing that those things you, say, shall come to pass.  Then he says you shall have whatsoever you, say.

This puts you in the driver’s seat of your life.  You are the one who is, to say, to the mountain or problem, believing it will come to pass, that is, to accomplish, what it is you are saying!  Glory to God, this is huge!  For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks which brings corresponding results.

The apostle Paul put it this way.  We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written.  I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; 2 Cor. 4:13  He then points to the unseen realm as the eternal here.

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.  2 Cor. 4:18

The above verse explains that the temporal or temporary is what we see in the physical world but that which is eternal is in the unseen realm.  So, if we want to change a circumstance which appears to be in the physical we must speak words of faith then wait in expectancy for the manifestation.  This is calling those things which be not as though they were!  God is the one doing all of the work, we are just being doers of the word as instructed.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.  Hebrews 11:3

The Christ came to show man how to live, to give abundant life!  He did so by showing us how the kingdom operates, that what we get in our heart controls our life and tells us how to receive our petitions by speaking the word of faith.  When we understand these spiritual principles which are included in the very Word of God, which is the living water that pours from the fountain of living water, we will strive to get the Word into our heart, the center of our very being.  Then when we need to speak to overcome a situation we will be prepared to do so.

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:14

Now, the Word is in you and your faith is growing ever larger.  For all are given a, measure of faith, then when we use it, becoming doers of the Word, it grows ever stronger.  Like a muscle which grows when you use it, faith too grows with use.

Until next time, may you all walk filled with the power of God, loving God and one another with a pure heart.  Remember to fear not, anything of this world, but walk by faith and not by sight!  Light and love, to all…

The Keys of the Kingdom

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.  Matthew 16:19

The last time I posted was on, Speaking Words of Life.  The topic covered how and why it is important that we do so in accordance with the Word.  This may sound somewhat confusing at first but you will see that all spiritual law works together just like natural law.   Actually, spiritual law too, is, natural law but on another level, the supernatural level.

So too, the keys of the kingdom of heaven, are super-naturally made keys which provide us access to the kingdom of heaven on earth.   In the opening statement from Matthew Jesus is talking about the power of a believer to, “bind and loose” on earth as it is in heaven.   To bind means, to forbid by indisputable authority or to loose means, to allow by indisputable authority.  The indisputable authority being God’s power behind what it is you are forbidding or allowing.  This coincides with speaking the word believing you have whatsoever it is you are praying for, as Jesus told us is possible.

And in that day ye shall ask me nothing, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.  Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.  John 16:23-2

In this verse Jesus explains that we are to ask in his name, using the same authority which is commanded under Jesus name.  He says you have not asked but you will receive if you do ask so your joy may be full.  This joy is the amazing joy which is brought forth when you realize that the very power of God, and God’s love which is the very essence of God since God is love, light and spirit is in you and connects us to one another!

Jesus too, taught us how to pray so we could receive what we desire.  The principles of the Lord’s prayer, reveal that we are to command the authority of heaven, similar to binding and loosing, “whatsoever shall be bound on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shalt be loosed in heaven.

When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Luke 11:2

The principles of prayer and binding and loosing are similar because you are calling for the power of God to be put in motion.  All of these require, “faith”, to manifest so one of the keys of the kingdom is certainly, faith!  Without faith the door to the kingdom of heaven remains inaccessible, seemingly locked.  Jesus told us this when he would perform a miracle and tell the other person involved that it is done unto you as you believe, that if you only believe, because of your great faith, in many varying terms he pointed to, “faith”, as being a key of the kingdom.

This faith is not only a belief, but having faith in your faith to do what it is you, say.  And how do we know what to say?  We ask according to God’s will because we see what His will is through the Word which reveals the promises, the blessings of God upon the believer.  So, the Word too is a key of the kingdom.  Therefore, you must have knowledge of what God’s word says.  This is not as hard as it may appear because we are told in Romans this;

The word is nigh thee. even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is the word of faith which we preach;  Romans 10:8

It then says how to receive faith further down the page.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  Romans 10:17

This verse reveals to us that we must be able to hear the word of God to receive faith.  That is, our ears must be spiritually opened to receive this knowledge.  It seems at first a very simple statement but when you look at what is being said you then realize the depth of this statement!

Jesus also explains in the parable of the sower, how the word operates, that you must sow it to reap a harvest.  That is, you must get it down into your heart, the depths of your very being, believe it works, then allow it to grow, doing the work which it was spoken to do!

Now the parable is this:  The seed is the word of God.

Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.  They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy, and these have no root, which for a while  believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.  But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.  Luke 8:11-15

Another which eludes to how the word operates its here.

So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;  And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.  For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.  Mark 4: 26-28

Now, we have two of the keys of the kingdom, the Word, which is alive, and moves with power in the invisible realm; and faith, which makes all things possible.

Then we are told by the scriptures that we believers are engrafted into the tribe of Abraham which is a very big deal because, the blessing, was given to all the descendants of Abraham.  Look here!

Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not that that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.

(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations.) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.  Romans 4;16-17

This is huge!  We too are blessed but not because of anything we did other than having faith, simply blessed because it is God’s good pleasure to bestow blessings on His children.  Glory to God!  This was all foreseen:

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen, through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nation be blessed.  So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.  Galations 3:8

So with love, grasp on to the keys of faith and the word, then you will know what avenue to pursue because you are ready for divine guidance.    For love is another key, without love it is not of God because God is love!

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.  1John 4:16

Until next time, may the keys of the kingdom bring you to new heights as you do heavens work here on earth with the power of God in you!  May we truly realize that all things are possible!  Light and love to all…

Speaking Words of Life

Speaking Words of Life

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life; John 6:63

Jesus came to bring us the word of God, saying that his very words that he speaks are spirit and life.  He also said this;

I am the living bread which came down from heaven:  if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. John 6:51

Now, the scriptures say that even at the time that he said this, it was a difficult saying to understand.  It says so in the next verse, “The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them,  Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.  Whoso eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.  For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.  He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.  As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.  This is that bread which h came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. John 6:53-58

The opening statement which reveals that the Christ’s words were literally spirit and life were spoken to clarify his statement about his flesh being meat indeed and his blood drink indeed.  When a believer was first learning the word of God and learning of spiritual ways they said they were on a milk diet, not ready for spiritual meat yet.  But, Christ says he is meat indeed, the very substance of God, the power of the word manifested in the flesh.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 1:1-4

Further on in the book of John it reveals that Jesus is the very manifestation of the Word, filled with life and power.  For as I discussed in earlier writings, the Word is not simply a combination of letters which spell out words but the Word is actually God and his power, thought, words filled with spiritual power.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Jesus came to show the people, first the Jew and then the Gentile, the way.  He explains in the parable of the sower how the spiritual system we live in operates.  The word is like a seed, and when it is planted and cultivated, cared for, then it grows ever larger. Then our faith increases because we grow also in understanding.  He explains how good words planted within you, the word of God, planted within you grows and blesses others, this is good fruit. Jesus said he is the bread of life.  We have already established that he is the Word manifested so this bread of life is the Word.  To have life, real life, which is living spiritually, inclining our ear to the Father for guidance, loving God with all of our heart and one another, then realizing God/Christ are dwelling within you and you in they.  Then you realize, with God all things are possible!  This is why the Christ risked his life to go to the people and speak on things of God, because he loved people and wanted them to have the abundant life.  So he spoke words of life and spirit to the people to teach them how important words and thoughts are. He spoke of faith and that with God all things are possible. He also told us this;

For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things; and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.  But I say unto you. That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shall be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

This is huge! It does not say words do not matter, that you can say whatever you want. No, on the contrary it says what you have in your heart is what will be manifested when you speak.  This is a very big deal; if you want good things in your life, think on good things, speak good words, and then you will manifest good.  Everyone wants good in their life but are you speaking good, thinking on good things?  Do you have the word of God within you so that good can manifest?

The scriptures reveal throughout the Bible the power of the Word.  Everything is, spoken into existence.  God spoke when he released power to create and we are made in God’s image.

But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.  Deuteronomy 30:14

Likewise, Jesus would speak when performing a miracle. He tells us too to have faith and says this,

I am the vine, ye are the branches; He that abideth in me and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:5-7

Here is a promise that connects it all.  We abide, or live in Christ and his words, which are life and spirit, abide or live in us; then when we ask, it shall be done! Wow, this brings the believer to a place of power.  This is when we become doers of the word.

But be ye doer of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass.  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

This scripture again points to the power of the word and the importance of bridling the tongue.  Why would you need to bridle the tongue?  Because controlling your words, and what you allow to be within your heart, the center of your being, your spiritual center, controls your life!

Knowing this, that our words, our very thoughts, control the outcome of our life, the fruit we bear, we choose, words of life and spirit!  We incline our ear to the Father, accept the power of the word into our heart, realizing that the very essence of Christ is empowering us in our daily lives!  Then with this knowledge, we speak words of life, blessing each other and glorifying God, for God is love!

So, until next time, may you be blessed abundantly. Light and love to all!

The Wonder of Christmas!

The Wonder of Christmas!

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph before they came together she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.

But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph thou son of David fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife; for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

And knew her not till she had brought forth her first-born son: and he called his name JESUS.  Matthew 1:18-25

This wondrous season brings us into remembrance of the birth of Christ which was foretold by the prophet Isaiah.   This was an amazing time with many marvelous signs, angels, a star guiding the way to the Christ child, and not only the birth of Christ but his predecessor, the birth of John the Baptist also was occurring to a woman who supposedly could have no children.

During this time the Word was in force, as it always is, and you will be able to easily see why the Christ was born to Mary and Joseph and likewise why John was born to Zacharias and Elisabeth.  Often, in my writing I talk about the Word being alive and moving in the unseen, manifesting, bringing about circumstances because of what has been spoken, literally power in motion.

First, let us look at the account in Luke, which is the most complete, starting with the birth of John the Baptist.  It says there, this. about Zacharias and Elisabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.  And they had no child, because that Elizabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years. Luke 1:6  So, these were good, righteous people who were trying to live according to the precepts of God, Zacharias it says was even a priest.  It was while he was at the temple burning incense, a custom of the priest’s office, that an angel appeared unto him.

And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. But the angel said unto him Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. Luke 1:12-13

The scriptures go on to say that John, shall not drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb. And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. Luke 1:16-17

But Zacharias response was not what the angel Gabriel, or God, wanted to hear because it appears, he was in doubt of what he was told.

And Zacharias said unto the angel.  Whereby shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.  And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee,, and to show thee these glad tidings.  And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season. Luke 1:18-19

This scripture reveals a couple different important points.  As I have said repeatedly in my writing the words of your mouth bring about circumstances.  Jesus explains this in Matthew, that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. This is why  Zacharias was made dumb, so he could not speak because power is put in motion when you speak, either good or negative.  It was to show him and us that words have consequences. Contrarily, look at the response of Elisabeth and Mary and what they had to say.

Powerful women of God

Then, the scriptures say, And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying, Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men. Luke 1:24-25

Now, why did she say this?  Because at this time in history women were very low in social status and if you could not have children then your value was diminished even more among men, so Elisabeth was simply grateful.  Then scriptures say, in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth. To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David: and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.  Mary, was troubled by this manner of salutation but the angel told her to, Fear not Mary: for thou hast found favor with God.  Then the scriptures go on to tell her about the son to be born to her and that his name would be Jesus.  Mary did ask how this could be since she had not been with a man.  The angel told her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee; therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. Luke 1:35

Now, look at Mary’s response to the angel and you can immediately see why she was chosen to be the mother of the Christ child.  Mary obviously had an amazing understanding of how the word operates for her words are filled with power and positive affirmations.  The angel goes on to tell her about her cousin, Elisabeth and how she had conceived a son in her old age and then tells her this:

For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37

This too, is what Jesus tells us.  Then Mary’s powerful response!

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it unto me according to thy word. Luke 1:38

So, Mary immediately had received this information as truth by faith.  She already sees herself as the handmaid of the Lord and says, putting power in motion, be it unto me according to thy word.  In our terms it would be, okay, let it be done!  This is a powerful statement because at that time a woman could be put to death for having a premarital relationship, even though she had not, to people it would certainly appear she had.  She did not question or fear but simply acted in accordance with the word given to her.  Then, the angel departed from her and it says Mary went to see her cousin Elisabeth.  The conversation that ensues shows both of these women were filled with understanding and the knowledge of God.

And it came to pass, that when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb, and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.  And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.  And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

This clearly shows in the last sentence that, believing, is an integral part of the equation.  Faith, puts God’s power in motion.  All the way back to Abraham, faith, is what puts God’s power to work.   Then, Mary responds:

And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.  For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.  For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.  And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.  He hath shown strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.

He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.

He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;

As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

Glory to God, this is powerful.  Mary did not say anything other than power-filled words, that blessed God, and by so doing, blessed herself also.  Immediately, you can see why she was chosen, but to be blessed she had to listen and believe!

Then Mary stayed at her cousin, Elisabeth’s home for another three months and Elisabeth delivered a son.

And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.  And his mother answered and said Not so; but he shall be called John. Luke 1:59-60

Now, this was huge because women as we discussed were of low social status at the time, so speaking out like this was a big deal.

And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name.  And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called.  And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying His name is John. And they marveled all.

And his mouth was open immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake and praised God. Luke 1:61-64

Then the Holy Ghost came upon Zacharias and he prophesied and glorified God, talking about the coming of Christ, the redeemer of Israel, and he said this about John.  And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins.

Mary and Joseph then had to return to his own city because of a tax decree from Caesar so they proceeded to go to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.  And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.  And the angel said unto them, Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord,  And this shall be sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:7-14

Glory to God, this is a wondrous time of the year!  Of course, we must get past all of the commercialism and get back to the roots of the story, but when we do so we can truly realize how important this event truly is.

By faith, we too must accept what has been done for us and learn how to live in accordance with God’s precepts, truly loving God and one another!  The Christ went on to show us the way, to give his earthly life, because of his great love for mankind, fulfilling prophecy from many years before his birth.  But I marvel too at Mary and Elisabeth’s great faith!

May you all have a blessed holiday season!  Remember too, the word holidays came from holy days.  So, when someone wishes you happy holidays, remember, yes indeed, holy days they are!  Oh, yes, the wonder of Christmas!  Until next time, may you be filled with the power of God, loving one another and the Lord.  Merry Christmas!

Giving thanks is a spiritual act!

See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.  Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit.

1Thessalonians 5:15-19

Giving thanks, acknowledging the very power of God in one’s life is foundational to living the life of abundance.  For when we are giving thanks we are not only acknowledging God’s goodness in our life but, “calling things which are not as though they were”, allowing the gate valve of abundance to flow into our life! Glory to God, this is the powerful life you were meant to live; living rightly or righteously, according to God’s precepts which are loving one another and God with a fervent heart plus realizing God’s power is moving constantly, reaping what is sowed.  Knowing this, we should certainly be mindful of what it is we are, “sowing”, for it is said, out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. This little scriptural verse is packed with power, knowledge and understanding because it shows that how you are thinking, what is in your heart, creates your life.  This is another huge spiritual concept, that if you want to change a circumstance you should speak God’s words over whatever it is you are trying to change, realizing in faith that power is moving in the unseen!

Jesus explained these things in the Parable of the Sower, that the seed is the Word, that God’s kingdom, which is within you works like a seed and needs roots, spiritual roots, is what he is speaking of.  Then, shortly after telling the parable he was crossing the sea when a great storm appeared where they, the disciples fearing for their lives, woke Jesus up and proclaimed don’t you care we are about to die, paraphrased, but Jesus said, Peace, be still, And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

I do not think that it was a coincidence that the Parable of the Sower, was given prior to the storm.  Perhaps, Jesus was seeing if they really grasped what he was saying, that spiritual power is released by starting with a thought as a seed, then cultivating it in the divine, realizing God is with you, in you and you in God, One, then watching as the results manifest.  In this instance Jesus, starts with the problem being the storm, says, Peace be still, and the wind ceased.  Now, before you walk into the nearest tornado and give this a whirl, I would suggest you start smaller but you know your faith, so it is up to you.l

Jesus, had already realized God’s power was with him so he knew, absolutely knew the storm would stop. This is asking in faith, saying according to the word and then manifesting the results.  Jesus even did this when he cursed the fig tree, showing negatively it also works.    Sometimes, I believe this is what we do to ourselves if we fear something is going to happen, your belief plus faith brings the result, spiritual power in motion, but not the kind we like.  So, do and ask, in accordance with what is good!

Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Matthew 21:21-22

So, if you need more thankfulness in your life, if there be any scarcity in health, love, finances, faith, ask believing you receive, believe that power is moving in the unseen, creating that which you ask for, then with gratitude it shall be done unto you according to your faith.

I know some may say, I’ve tried this and it does not work but my response would be that you probably did not let the roots of the seed grow, there is always a period of time which passes even if it is infinitely small.  Every farmer knows that you cannot keep plucking a seed out of the good soil to see if it is working.  You just have to believe.

Yes, Thanksgiving is a blessed time but for some it is the beginning of a season which brings back memories of lost loved ones, better times, heartache and loneliness.  So, remember that some have no one to spend these special days with and could use some love in their life.  Simple acts of kindness such as just being, “friendly”, can help or perhaps you know of other ways to, reach out.  Some may be hungry, cold, and poor so they may not be feeling too thankful.  Be understanding, realize unfortunate events do occur and we should be available to help when we can.

We are all in this life together, connected as spiritual beings, each one made in the very Image of God, which I also write about under that name.

We also are given instruction on how to live, love God and one another, how to increase our faith, how to have the abundant life so we all may be thankful!  During this special season which has undoubtedly been commercialized too much, remember Thanksgiving was started to merely give thanks.  Giving thanks, is a spiritual act!  It shows you realize how the spiritual system works when you are giving thanks because you and God are at the helm of your life!  If this is the case, we are walking with God, as One, with Christ, then certainly goodness shall fill our lives and good fruit too, will manifest.

May you all be abundantly blessed during this holiday season.  Remember when folks say, happy holidays, that the word, holiday, is derived from, holy day, so they are acknowledging that yes, indeed, the savior’s birth was a holy day!  God bless and keep you all until next time! Quench not the Spirit!

We are All Connected

Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.
Chief Seattle

After a contentious election, I believe we all may need this reminder. We are all connected, so when you act badly towards another, you are putting negative power into motion. The apostle Paul put it this way.

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Ephesians 4:4-6

As I wrote about previously in, The Image of God, we all have the same God in and through us. We are spiritual beings, living in a spiritual realm where, it is done unto you as you believe. Realizing this, the great truth which connects us all, we need to walk as One, realizing that we may have differing opinions but realize too, that we are all children of the living God!
Another way Jesus said it is, I am the vine, ye are the branches; He that abideth in me and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:5-7 Later, he gave a commandment, This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. John 15:12 Jesus, took a great risk bringing knowledge of how the spiritual realm operates to us; he did so because he loved the people and God, he wanted them to have a life of abundance. He showed us, the Word, has power and that God is love. In the parable of the sower he explains that the Word, operates like a seed, that it is filled with supernatural power so when you let it grow roots then it will grow and your life will reap fruit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, Galations 5:22
The Christ liked to use common examples of the time people could relate to, so he explained it like he is the vine, (one with God, the very life force) and the branches are us. A branch does not fight against the other branches, it is all one plant. The life force flowing through it, flows through all of the branches, there is no contention amongst the branches. We too must think like this if we are to realize the impact of our actions towards one another. If we want to reap goodness, we need to sow goodness. We know one of the basic concepts is, you reap what you sow. Why then would we not sow goodness, or why would we sow strife and think we are going to get goodness? Even the simplest farmer knows you get what you plant, so let’s sow only good!

Jesus, also showed how the entire spiritual system operates. Whenever he did a miracle he said, it is done unto you as you believe, your faith has made you whole, it is because of your great faith! The entire spiritual system we live in works on, faith. I wrote some on this previously in, Faith and the Unseen, an earlier entry. So, realize this, God is love, the Word is power, and faith is what makes it all work! What a wondrous place we live in!

Until next time, may you all be blessed, walking as One, realizing we are all uniquely made, but still One, all connected! Love one another and God with a true heart, walking as children of the light!

The Abundant Life

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalms 1:1-3

Here, in this scripture, this spiritual writing, the way to achieve the abundant life is put forth.  First, it says to not listen to people who know nothing of God. The reason for this of course is that they know nothing of spiritual, “things” or how the world operates.  This world operates on spiritual law even if you do not believe it.  Jesus explained this in Matthew when he said, for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things; and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof, in the day of judgement. For by thy words thou shall be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matt. 12:34-35. Your words come from what you believe, what is in the core of your being, your heart.  These words do not have to be spoken, they are your very thoughts which are creating your life according to what you think and say.  This is huge!  Once this is understood, action can be taken to adjust your mind so you may pursue the course you desire.

It also says in the opening Psalm that, “the blessed man”, or woman “delights in the law of the Lord” and he “meditates”, on this day and night. So, this is not some passing thought about this spiritual system but thinking intensely on how this spiritual law operates and controlling one’s mind. This is why Christianity or spiritual law does not work for some people.  They may even go to church to gain a deeper understanding but then walk out and live just like the people of the world who have no knowledge or understanding.  This is not faith that there even IS, a spiritual system, so depending on what they believe it is done unto them.  To have real faith we must first learn that there is a spiritual system giving to us according to what we think, feel and do.  Then, when we realize this, that God is real, that power moves in the unseen realm according to your thoughts and words, we may put our faith into motion creating the abundant life.

I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:9-10

Jesus came to explain how the things of God operate so we could have “life” and have it more abundantly.  Everything in this spiritual system works by faith, that is, what we believe and how much love is in us.  That is why throughout the scriptures it speaks of the connection between the heart, the center of your very being, your words, faith, which can be faith in good things or bad and corresponding results which are manifested in your life.  The scriptures are the keys to the kingdom and when we think correctly we can manifest good results.

This also works in good times or bad. As you see in the Psalm even in times of, “drought”, the leaf shall not whither.  That is, you will be blessed no matter whether it is a recession, a time of political unrest, regardless of circumstance if you are living with your ear inclined to your inner intuition trusting in God to give you guidance, you will know what to do.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8

This changes life! Knowing these things you can truly have life, a good one, blessed with peace, love, happiness and prosperity.  Yes, if anyone is lacking in any of these areas ask and it will be given, believing that you receive that which you ask for.  This is “calling things which are not as though they were”, another powerful scriptural concept.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

The, “righteousness” spoken of here is living according to God’s ways which are a divine system of goodness and love with spiritual law operating as the foundation.  Everything is systematically organized under spiritual law so we are first to seek this “kingdom”, within us.

The scriptures also explain that God is in and through all things, of course that includes us and I have previously written about the fact that we are made in the, “image of God”.  Scripture also defines God as love, light and spirit so it may not be the God you first believed in as a child, some large theologian we all probably pictured at one time.   Many of us have had let downs over the years to say the least but know this, we are living in a spiritual realm which responds to your thoughts, so live in love, seek that which is good, ask inwardly for guidance and you will be blessed. For you are a child, son or daughter of the living God and it is His good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Until next time, love and light to all!

New Beginnings

Ho, Every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money, come ye, buy, and eat, yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? And your labour for that which satisfieth not?  Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

Isaiah 55:1-3

There are times when we all may feel like we need a new beginning.  Sometimes, “life”, may seem to slap us around a little, or things may not seem as great as we would like.  There are many people who struggle with using illicit drugs, drinking alcohol excessively, or perhaps you are just seeking more fulfillment out of life.  Whatever the reason, know this, God loves new beginnings!  Like spring coming to the foothills, this is when the most beautiful things can occur, when a person may blossom into a new creation and all old things are passed away.

In the above verse, the author is speaking as God, about a spiritual type of food and the word, “Ho”, is a call to listen up!  Here, it tells to, incline your ear, and you, “shall live”.  When a person does incline their ear they are listening for the still, small voice within, realizing, acknowledging the very reality of God!

On the last day that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying. If any man thirst let him come unto me and drink.  He that believeth on me as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. John 7:37

Jesus spoke of these things earlier in the chapter of John also and then had to explain what he was speaking about to his disciples because they were not understanding he was speaking of taking in the word as a type of spiritual food.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. John 6:53   He then heard his disciples murmuring amongst themselves about what a hard saying this was to understand, so he said to them, Doth this offend you?  What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing:  the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:61-63

So, here we quickly learn what this bread and living water is, the very word of God.  Once you gain an understanding of the Word of God, this is the true sustenance your soul thirsts for.  There is a true inter-relationship with the Father, the Creator, God, who is defined as light, love and spirit when we are inclining our ear, letting our very soul delight itself in fatness. This brings God’s power into your life, which changes everything!

New beginnings, this term brings about visions of spring to me, new life springing forth. This too, is what occurs on the spiritual level when you realize all of this stuff about God, invisible realms, love’s healing power, faith changes things, is all real! That is why Jesus, was crying out to the people!  He knew it is all real! He was willing to suffer the horrendous death of, the cross and the ridicule by the people, who scoffed and mocked him, the very Son of God!

The least we can do is listen, believe and love God and one another.  Know, there is real power available to the believer to do or become whatever God leads you to. In the book of Jeremiah the prophet is trying to get Israel to turn back to the Father when he, speaking as God, says this.

For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. Jeremiah 2:13

I talked previously about people being literally, spiritual vessels or containers.   The fountain of living water, is God’s love and power. Then when we acknowledge Him, receive these, His word, love and power, then this living water will flow from us to others bringing new life, to the believer.

So, may your new beginnings be awesome!  May you find true peace and sustenance living a life filled with love and God’s power! Until next time, light and love to all!
