In the Image of God

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis 1:26-27

Then it says, “God blessed them,…” So, what does this mean we are made in the image of God, and why is God, plural, in this text? In our likeness, it says and implies we are certainly not just another animal but a unique being created in God’s image, given dominion over the earth.  Later on, in Genesis there is another beautiful text, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”  So, now it points out that besides being created in God’s image we are also a, living soul.

In the book of 1 John, the apostle John is pointing out some characteristics of God which may shed some light on the plurality used in Genesis where it says,”Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…” . John writes this.

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.  1 John 5:7

This scripture sheds light on the plurality used in Genesis, in our image, after our likeness.  In this same book, John also states that, God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”    So, both of these combined explain many other scriptures which state that the Word has been put in your heart and in your mouth. Like this one:

But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. Deuteronomy 30:14

My point is that God is not far from us but is us, and has a special relationship with us. We are made in the likeness of God and I do not think that means we look like God since God is in and through all things, which includes the universe. So, when we pray we have to realize that he is in us and through us, that he is the very love within. That we are in God, God in us.  This is what Jesus prayed. That we would, be one, as he was with God and us, One. So, as soon as you pray to some far-off deity you immediately cut yourself off from the real God which is in You.  God is like, I’m right here, who are you talking to, the sky? The stars?  I’m right here, in you, I am you. I AM . I guess God is also in the sky and stars so if you want to, you can look that far but God is also You.  He is in and through your very atoms, so God knows what your praying about before it is even spoken. Glory to God! God will give you the power to do, but you must do whatever it is.

This is not near as difficult with God’s Word in our mouth and in our heart, the heart being the center of our being where we believe and our mouth speaking the Word puts spiritual power into motion. Then it is done unto us as we believe.

That being said, there are things which occur that are outside of our realm of understanding.  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9  But we are given these resources so we know we are not left defenseless.

There is a great deal of scripture about the heart and the mouth. One is here.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Proverbs 4:23

The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.

Proverbs 16:23

In Proverbs 20:27 it says, The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.  In this verse the Hebrew word for spirit is the same word used for breath in the scripture about God breathing the breath of life into man.  The breath of life being, the spirit of man.

How fascinating and wondrous I find all of this.  What a wondrous relationship we have with the Creator.  This is why scripture tells us to, Fear not, neither be dismayed, for if we are walking with this amazing God as one, with an awareness, we only need to realize that we are truly vessels of the living God!  Then whatever we take on is with God as our righteous right arm.  The bible also speaks of people who are walking under their own, supposed, power as having a right arm of flesh, not realizing they are God’s creation, with God in them, walking according to their own whims and desires. That is walking carnally, with no knowledge of God.  It seems a silly existence once you discover the power of God, in you!  But everyone discovers at their own pace, so be patient with others, help when you can.

Remember, God sees you as perfect, a perfect creation, no matter what shape, size or color you are. To the Father you are perfect. The world may say you are too skinny, too fat, need make-up, too old, too young or too gray but realize they are just trying to usually get you to buy something or want to make their selves feel better.  There will always be those who are ready to put someone else down to lift themselves up saying you are too religious or not religious enough, an ex-drug addict or a goodie-two-shoes.  Even if you are a drug addict, a drunk or a criminal, you are still a child of the living God and these behavioral things can be changed the instant you decide to do so.  As a man thinketh, so is he, or she. This is a biblical truth.

The only thing to realize is God is love so if you want to feel closer to God, love. This will spread the love to others. We all need love no matter how tough you think you are.  People become tough to protect themselves from others who can be harsh.  It damages people to live without love because it is not natural. We are vessels of God so we should treat one another accordingly, realizing they too are created in the very, image of God!

Until next time, be blessed and love one another!

Renewing of the mind

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Jeremian 17:7-8

Today, I am going over some powerful information to overcome adversity and help to renew your mind.  Even more, like the scripture above states, you may just completely avoid the difficulty in the first place.  That being said, everyone has those days where, stuff, seems to come out of nowhere and if we are not ready, sometimes even when we are prepared we may become temporarily rattled.

But have no fear, the scriptures are chocked full of information to assist us with these issues.  To gain knowledge and understanding to overcome these problems lets look at some absolutely essential information.  It is important to grasp these concepts, to get them deep within you, so you can truly have a blessed life.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Proverbs 4:23

This seems like a very simple saying but it is packed with spiritual power!  It tells us that how you think, what thoughts are within the very core of your being, actually control the direction and course of your life.  This is a powerful spiritual truth!  Jesus said it this way..

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things; and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Matthew 12:35-37

So, whatever good or evil which is within you shall manifest when it comes out of your mouth. Even more than that, you should try to have only good thoughts within you and do not speak, that which you do not want. For, words are power in motion.  Throughout the Bible every time the Lord performed an act or Jesus performed an act, he said it first.  Jesus gives us instruction here; For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:23-24

Paul the apostle also received this, very knowledge of God, saying this:

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.

2 Corinthians 4:13

Paul and John absolutely knew that it was very important to get good thoughts within you.  We are supposed to be filled with love!  He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.  1 John 4:8  So, when you speak make sure they are powerful, good words, to bless yourself and others. People will feel the good which comes from you and good fruit will follow.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, what soever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Philippians 4:8

Then we know, with a pure heart we realize, that God is with us and we are armed, equipped, to overcome the obstacles of the day.  For, we are told to live by faith not by sight; so what appears to be, is simply that, the appearance of what is which may be altered by, the word of our mouth, the very power of God put into motion.  Glory to God!  But, to do so we must be living right, righteously, it is called, loving one another and God with a fervent heart.  Then when we ask, believing we will receive, our heart will not feel condemned and make our request void.  Peter the apostle put it this way; For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

So, do good and fear not; know that God is with you.  Be blessed, until next time, love and light to all!

Love is a Verb

For if any be a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass.  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

James 1:23-25

So, what does this mean to be a, doer of the word, and not a, hearer, only?  This was written, it is believed by Jesus’ brother James who became a believer after Christ’s ascension.  Here James is bothered by the observation that many of the people in the new church did not seem the least bit changed in behavior after accepting the beliefs of the church.  Does this sound familiar?  Do people who even claim to be, believers, act no different than anyone else.  Perhaps they even go to church, listen to the sermon, read a Bible once in a while, but they still act like anyone else.  They may get angry, scream, holler, certainly not behave like they have any faith that God is living in them, that all things are possible, or act like their, love, is any different.  Perhaps, they see others suffering but pay no attention.  They may think, get a job you worthless bum!  This is what was bothering James, that the folks who were supposed to be filled with the love of God did not seem motivated.  He went on to say this:

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit.

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works; show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well; the devils also believe, and tremble.

What he is clearly saying is at some point we have to put our faith and love into some sort of action, not just sit blissfully on the mountain top. For love demands action. My father, who was the illumined minister, who was the inspiration for starting this blog and writing the book entitled, The Realm, said this in his old notes:

Love is the only thing which grows the more you give it away.

This too, was from his writings.  The only way we can experience the fulfillment of the self is by meeting the needs of others.  We must forget the “me” and center our attention, our love, which is God on, “them”.  If we set out in life to uplift our fellow man in any manner, in food, clothing, education, freedom, employment, etc., our self needs are met without any thought or effort on, “our own behalf”.  We don’t express God by being self-centered.  We express God only through concern for and contact with our brother.  Our God awareness joins with their, his or her, God awareness.  We must lose ourselves to find ourselves.

How can we say we are one of God’s own when all we do is think of and work toward self-fulfillment? God is Love.  Love is a verb. Christ presupposed we love our self when He gave the greatest commandment of all.  Love God with all of your being and the second, Love your neighbor as yourself.  Christ didn’t go into long details about loving yourself.  He presupposed this fact.  If you love God you have to Love yourself.  Why? Because you are God’s creation, therefore you are God -one with God – and if you love God, Jesus presupposed you love yourself. So, we are told to love our neighbor as we Love our self.  Our oneness with God, our self which is made in God’s image.  If we accept this “self-God-image” then we don’t worry about our daily existence. Because we are one with God and God cannot fail, be miserable etc.  The only time we fail is when we negate we are God or one with God.  Then we fail, not God thru Christ.

We must accept this fact, that we are one with God, and quit wasting anymore time in doing the will of God.  Love is a verb, an action word. Love cannot be verbalized it must be used, put into play.  We don’t sit and pray or sit and say I feel love for my neighbor. We don’t feel love, we do love. We must be generous with our love. Love is the only thing that grows as you give it away. Love is the only thing that the more you give it, the more you have of it.  Until you love, you can’t love.

This is, being a, doer of the word, which includes the assurance that your deed will be blessed.  When we love others and “do”, for them, helping, inspiring or simply loving, putting the word, which is God’s supernatural spiritual power in motion, Jesus who was the word in the flesh as the apostle John said, working through us, fills us with the very love of God.  For God is Love, in you, and you, in God, one.

Until next time, be blessed! Realize, you are the light of the world, the very hands of God!

Becoming One

I believe the scripture which follows this is one of the most important ones for us to grasp.  This is actually a prayer for us, that we would, “be one”, with the Father and the Christ, all of Us, one.   This is Chapter 25, from the book The Realm, on Amazon, at https://www.amazon.com/Realm-Daniel-Mears/dp/1973382334 and I believe it is very important information.  I also have added some to help clarify the importance of this, unity message.

This puts us all in life, together, not as individuals struggling along in life but, one, all of us together, in God and the Christ, one, together.  When we realize this oneness with God who is defined as light, love and spirit, perhaps we can grasp that there is supposed to be a realization of this, harmony, in our lives. Not only harmony, for there is no confusion or struggle in God, but power too, to overcome whatever obstacles are before us.  For if we are living, in God, and He in Us, along with the Son, who brought us this message at the expense of his earthly life, should we not at least put forth the effort to grasp the message? He is not asking us to go to the cross, that has already been done.  He just wants us to realize, to, “be one”.  Glory to God, what an opportunity for Us, to realize the Father and the Son are in Us and We, with them. Us too then, one, with one another, in love, for God is love. Obviously this too has to be found within.  For we are told the kingdom is within.  Here is the scripture and the prayer for Us.

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.  And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.  I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have love Me.

Father I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.  O righteous Father!  The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me.  And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

John 17:20-26

In the book of John, Jesus also repeatedly went over the point of us becoming “one” with the Father, God.  He implored and pounded this point home along with “loving one another”.  Obviously this was an imperative message he wanted us to embrace and realize.  If this was not an obtainable goal, to come to this realization of oneness, he would not have repeatedly hammered upon this point.   From a point of “Oneness” the power of God is released.

When the sick woman of the scriptures touched the garment of Jesus he was aware of the power being released and sought out the woman; he then told her it was her faith which cured her ailment.  How awesome is the power of God.  Jesus explains this power is available to us also through the Oneness achieved by truly loving God and each other.

Jesus understood the importance of retaining a positive mental attitude and was arguably the most empowered positive thinker of all time.  That being, he said “greater things will you do”; which means we too can be power thinkers.  Repeatedly throughout the scriptures he connected that you must believe; truly have faith to put the power in motion.

So, be loving, realize you have the power of God within you and envision the power in motion believing you have already achieved your goal and it will be!  Power set in motion, a positive loving attitude and faith.

The power of God is here as it was always, in the past with the men and women of God and with you.  The power of the invisible realm is as strong as ever; like a computer modem we just have to realize how to access the power.  We are endowed with the internal link, just be One with love, God, the power and realize you have the power!

Once we transcend the minimalist thinking where we are merely responsive to the world and realize how powerful we are when attached to the vine, One with God, then you will notice how events change when your thoughts change!  This is the power-filled mystery of God, that you can with your faith create from the unseen visible results, speaking new thoughts to life, the power of God through you manifesting as you desire.  Do only what is pleasing to the Father, Jesus is our example to follow.  We are only to do what is good!

God is greater but we are the drop of water in the ocean of God, the little circle within the large finding our identity which had previously been hidden to us.  All people have this capability of realizing the divine within; we cannot be separated except in our mind, then, it is how you believe it to be but only because of your own ignorance.  If you truly seek you will find.  Be loving and patient with yourself and others.  The spirit of truth will reveal all to you as you inquire within; believe you are a child of the living God!  When you do reach this point of realization you may find your purpose in life is revealed; loving one another brings a new, fresh perspective on what we want to achieve in life.  Helping one another to reach this abundant life may become your new goal.   Finding your purpose will be the next step of the adventure!

Until next time, light and love to all.  May your spirit be over flowing with the love of God, not only towards God and Jesus but towards one another! Be blessed!

And he marveled because of their unbelief.

And he marveled because of their unbelief.

Mark 6:6

There are a few times in the bible that Jesus marveled.  On this occasion he and his disciples had returned to his home town.  It should be noted that Jesus had immediately prior to this raised the ruler of a synagogue’s daughter from the dead.  This was immediately following another miracle, an occasion when a woman who it says in the scripture, had an, “issue of blood twelve years”, who had spent all of her money paying physicians to heal her but was no better.

So, there was a large crowd, because he had recently performed another miracle, and this woman was struggling to get close to Jesus. The scripture says, “when she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. Mark 5:27-28  When she then touched his garment it says she was immediately, “dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of the plague, Mark 5:28-29. Then, Jesus knew power had gone out from him and was asking, “Who touched me?  The disciples then were wondering, how Jesus knew someone touched him because there was such a crowd.  But Jesus knew power went out from him so he was looking around, it says this, And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. Mark 5:33-34.

While this was occurring a man, Jairus by name, the ruler of the synagogue was trying to get Jesus to go heal his daughter because she was very sick, it says at the point of death but a great multitude was around Jesus. So, Jesus started heading that way, over to where she was.

But, after the healing of the woman with the, issue of blood, a man came from Jairus’ home and told the ruler his daughter was dead. So, then the man asked, why troublest thou the Master any further? As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. Now these three are also significant because these are also the ones he took with him when Jesus was transfigured, at a different time, but worth noting.  And the people laughed at Jesus when he told them the girl was merely sleeping.  “And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi which is being interpreted, Damsel I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat. Mark 5:41-43

My point is this, that Jesus was filled with the power of God, absolutely no doubt. But when he went to his own home the people who had known Jesus since he was a child and knew all of his family, brothers and sisters, when they heard Jesus teaching in the synagogue they became offended at him. Because they had known Jesus since he was a child and they also knew his entire family.   But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. Mark 6:4-5

This definitely shows that faith, plays a powerful, imperative role in releasing the power of God. Jesus repeatedly told people when performing miracles, great acts depicting God’s power that it was their faith which made this possible.  We too, must have faith to access the power of God within us.  You cannot access the power of God without it.  Jesus could not even do any mighty works, because of their unbelief  but he was doing great miracles when the people did have faith.  Glory to God this is an imperative point.  Without faith we are just walking by sight, according to our senses.  We must have, faith!

Everything that occurs in the invisible realm happens because of faith.  I have another entry entitled, Faith and the Unseen.  There are some powerful points worth going over in that entry also. Only believe, Jesus says, Only believe.

Until next time, light and blessings to you all!

Positive motion

I normally write my weekly blog from whatever topic is relevant at the time but this week I selected a chapter from my book, The Realm, which I think you will find very empowering.  https://www.amazon.com/Realm-Daniel-Mears/dp/1973382334

Get going. Move forward. Aim High! Plan a take-off. Don’t just sit on the runway and hope someone will come along and push the airplane. It simply won’t happen. Change your attitude and gain some altitude. Believe me, you’ll love it up here! Donald Trump

I tend to stay away from politics but I do love this quote.  This empowering quote is flowing over, gushing with hidden springs of optimism!  First it says, “get going”. We can’t sit on our hands and expect something positive to happen.  It goes on to say, “ Aim High!” We are not to be satisfied with mediocre results, just go for it with gusto, aiming for the sky!  Don’t expect someone else to come along and “push the airplane”. It goes on invoking how changing our attitude will help us go on to achieving some, “altitude”, in life. Then he goes on to tell you how happy you will be once you have put forth the energy and reaped the rewards. Yes, “you’ll love it up here”, this power packed quote states.  Some people do have strong feelings about politics but remember we are all children of the living God so do not let divisiveness slip into your life; we are one regardless of differing views.

This quote strays from the more conventional philosophical writers and religious texts but strikes home with me for the simple fact I did some flying years ago, plus it is great advice for those of us vying for a more affluent lifestyle.  As a young man I learned to fly in a small Cessna when I was taking flying lessons.  Eventually I soloed, which means, I was checked off by my flight instructor as capable of flying by myself with hopefully minimal risk of crashing.  I was walking out to the plane to go practice flying by myself on a cool, crisp winter morning.  I loved flying on mornings like this.  It was cool, calm and clear with blue skies for as far as I could see.  A plane has great response on cool mornings as long as it isn’t freezing to the point of causing dangerous icing conditions.  The air is denser than during the warmer months.  After my pre-flight inspection I throttled down the runway and the plane literally jumped into the clear blue morning sky seemingly as eager as I.  I had only recently soloed so it was still sinking in that I was alone in the cockpit, unassisted by my thoroughly competent flight instructor.  I flew around the pattern to practice some landings and then suddenly it registered loudly in my mind, “fly-the-plane”, no one is going to do it for you.  Such is life; you have to get moving forward, fly your plane, your life, no one can do it for you, so be an active player.  Positive motion is half of, “staying positive”.

Staying positive during times of change and on a daily basis is imperative to our empowerment.  This may seem a challenging endeavor, certainly daunting at times because of our propensity to flash back to our old reactionary thinking.  So, remember to relentlessly stay positive, thinking love filled thoughts which bring power!  Also, we are happiest and most productive when we can get moving, toss fearful living back to the abyss. The nothingness from which it came, like turning a light on in a dark room the darkness vanishes instantaneously. Fear is the same as darkness. It has no substance of its own.

So, when we put hope, faith and the belief that good things are here now in the place of useless fear then only the positive remains.  Move forward with positive motion, this will empower and enable us to invoke the privilege, our God given power, to choose our creative path.  This is how we shape our destiny.  Look to the positive!

Likewise, when this seems to be a challenging proposition and all appears to be tumbling down around us; unforeseen bills, illness, or accidents may cause us momentarily to stray from the positive. It is then we need to refocus and realize as my mother would say, “This too will pass!”

It is essential to remain undeterred when life is disrupted, during times of hardship or when some aggravating situation may arise.  We all know heartbreaking events do occur for everyone and sadness is our expression of love for others. Knowing this, be loving towards others realizing significant events are a facet of life.  Our reaction should be to accentuate the positive . Positivity is love; without love we truly cannot live a positive life. Consequently, with the wisdom retained, knowing love is power many would be negative events will simply seem to evaporate into the nothingness from which they came.  This is the power of the realm!

Additionally, realize all people have potential.  Each one of us is uniquely blessed with a vast variety of gifts and talents creating a mosaic of humanity!  See the potential in each other and assist one another.  We are all One, our realities inter-twining.

So glide gently through life, transcending the obstacles which may arise.  Negotiate the pitfalls with love to emerge impervious and create a comprehensive plan of action towards , a path to manifesting your goals, aiming for the sky!

If you utilize these guidelines your life will be the exceptional blessing it was meant to be.

Remember also, to relax; give your inner batteries time to recharge.  Have some fun! Having fun is a great stress buster and we are supposed to enjoy life. Play, have a family outing! Great memories are truly made when we are having fun together.  So reward yourself frequently, take time to relax and have some recreation.  Until next time, love, light and blessings to all!

Freedom and Liberty

The Fourth of July, Independence Day is upon us and with it brings barbecues, picnics, fireworks and the joy of spending time with family and friends. It is also good that we have some extra time over the holiday to be grateful for our, “freedom”, and realize the precious cost for our, “liberty”.
As we enjoy our festivities, know that there are military people all around the world protecting our precious freedom so we may enjoy the liberty to have these family gatherings in peace. Many of the founding fathers of this country came to escape religious persecution. One of my ancestors, Captain John Mears, a fighting Quaker, was one of these individuals. He was wounded during the Revolutionary War. It seems that we are still fighting wars on a regular basis. We have lost way too many precious children, husbands and wives over the years because of these constant struggles. But there is also another struggle people face and this is the inner war; this is the war between the spirit and the flesh, many people are suffering needlessly, simply because of a lack of knowledge. I am not speaking of a lack of, “book”, knowledge, for many people have an abundance of, book knowledge, scientific, literary, mathematical knowledge but still fall victim to life because they have no spiritual knowledge. Some individuals as we mentioned in other blog entries simply find anything spiritual as, “foolishness”, to them because they live only according to the senses. That is, a person can just keep responding to life, instead of taking a grasp on the helm via spiritual knowledge, the law of liberty, then controlling their course. Glory to God!
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Luke 4:18-19
That is Jesus reading from the book of the prophet Esaias, in Nazareth, where it says, Jesus had been brought up. When Jesus read this in the synagogue he then closed the book saying, “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”
Later on in the book of John, Jesus speaks of this spiritual knowledge.
If ye continue in my word, then, are ye my disciple indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man; how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house fore ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
John 8:31-36

So, if we can continue in the word, which I discussed in previous blog entries, is filled with spiritual power, not just words on a page, then we are free indeed! Glory to God this is powerful knowledge which can literally change your life! Until next time, enjoy your freedom, and be safe!

Born of the Spirit

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell when  it cometh, and whither it goeth; so is every one that is born of the Spirit. John 3:5-8

Here, Jesus was having a conversation with Nicodemus, described in the book of John as a, “man of the Pharisees,” a “ruler of the Jews”.  In this conversation a little later, Jesus chastised Nicodemus because he had no knowledge of these things.  Jesus said, “Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?” This was astounding to Jesus since Nicodemus was supposed to be teaching the Jews about, spiritual things, the very knowledge of God!

So, what does it mean to be, “born of water and of the Spirit” so that we may enter into the, “kingdom of God.”  I believe the water he is speaking of here is, the water referred to later on in the chapter of John when he is talking to the woman by the well.  Here Jesus is having a conversation with a Samaritan woman, people the Jews did not speak to when he told her this:

If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. John 4:10

He then went on to say later, “Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again; But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:13-14

This, “living water”, later in scripture is said to be, “the Spirit”, the Holy Ghost, which is the essence of God which is also given as a, “gift” to us.  To receive this gift we must look to spiritual things and allow ourselves to be filled, believing by faith.  This is where we have to realize the difference between information and revelation.  A person can read scripture and hear the, “word” of God without actually discerning what they are actually reading or hearing.  We are made in the image of God and can receive this information spiritually.  We are made with the internal modem, an analogy which may be useful in this age, to receive this information of the Spirit.  Like a computer which can receive, we too can receive.

The apostle Paul talks too about these things to the people of Corinth, who really are no different than we are, trying to understand the things of God!

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard , neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit, for the Spirit searcheth all things, ye, the deep things of God. 1Cor.3:9-10

The rest of the scripture explains that these, “deep things of God”, are only spiritually discerned.  The, “Spirit of God” revealing the deep things of God!

Which things also we speak not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

So, we too must look away from, “the natural”, things of the world to understand the, spiritual things, yes, and receive the Spirit to learn of the, “deep things of God”!   Until the next time, may you all be blessed!

Power-filled Sons of God

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.  This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

John 15:10-12

Everything Jesus did when he began his ministry was out of love for God and the people.  He came to arm the people with the knowledge of God so they too could minister to one another and overcome life.  He also said this,

“ Verily , verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do: because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name. I will do it.  If ye love me, keep my commandments.  John 14:12-14

So Jesus was definitely trying to get his point across, like a mother who is trying to get a message across to their child, he repeatedly tells us to love one another as the Father loves us.  The scripture goes on, “If a man love me, he will keep my words ; and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. John 14:23  If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7

Repeatedly Jesus pounds this message home so that we understand the importance, the absolute magnitude of this principle.  He also, obviously wants us to realize that when attached to the vine, He and God, the absolute power of God is available to us, the believer, flowing through us just like the life force of a vine.  Glory to God this is powerful!  He tells us clearly that when we are loving others, I mean really loving one another, the very power of God is available to us, the believer.  This power he showed throughout his ministry works through faith!  This is where we put the knowledge of God all together.  We love God and one another, we simply love, then incline our ear, that is, listen to the still small voice of God within, then be doers of the word.  Glory to God, this is what Jesus wants us to do!  He was a powerful example of love and always spoke the word with faith!  He wanted us too to be filled with love, acting with faith.  He wanted us to be One with the Father like he was.  God is love and he told us he was One with the Father and prayed that we too would be One with He and the Father!

Neither pray I for these alone, (speaking of the apostles) but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; (us) That they all may be one as thou, Father, art in me and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one; I in them, and thou in me that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me , and hast loved them, as thou hast love me. John 17:20-23

Jesus is telling us that we too have access to the marvelous power of God, direct access, doing as He did!  How powerful is this?  So, we need to arm ourselves with the Word of God which is spiritual power ready to move, love one another and God, then be doers of the word, utilizing God’s marvelous spiritual power as we ask and receive!  We are the literal body of Christ!  We are to realize that we are One with the Father, to have this awareness and believe in faith. For faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.  So let us walk by faith, not by sight realizing we are children of God and then heirs!  Heirs to the promise, the blessing of Abraham, brought by faith!  May you all be filled with love, walking as empowered believers!

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

The heart and the mouth

The Heart and the Mouth

The knowledge of God pt.3

I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

Jeremiah 17:10

There is an abundance of scripture about, “the heart and the mouth” in the Bible and it is not to be taken lightly, for it is part of, the knowledge of God which controls your very life.  What you say today and that which is in your heart, the very center of your being, will determine your tomorrows.  The Lord knows your heart, yes, it says, “searches the heart”, so nothing is hidden which shall not be revealed.

I have a horse at home so I know some stuff about horses, how to ride, saddle, all of the basic stuff.  So, the other part of the above scripture about, tries the reins, certainly speaks to me.  When you are riding a horse, you can tell exactly how they feel just by trying the reins.  You can let the reins slack and if they are angry or excited they are ready to bolt off, running like a wild beast, or if they are quiet and content, you can tell that too.  Their entire mood, their feelings from within are immediately known just by trying the reins.  So too, the Lord knows your thoughts, feelings, love or lack thereof, and gives back to us accordingly, reaping the fruit of our, “doings”.

In the book of James, in the Bible, he talks about the mouth like a bit in a horse’s mouth, which guides their entire body, able to make them obey or the rudder of a ship which can direct the path of a giant vessel. There is verse after verse about gaining, understanding and knowledge, learning to control your mouth, getting the word within your heart, a literal treasure trove of scripture on these topics throughout the Bible.  This understanding is, that if you incline your ear, that is, follow God’s way, loving God and each other and get this deep within your being, into your heart, then speak good things, you will be blessed!  Glory to God!

The words of a man’s (or woman’s) mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook. Proverbs 18:4

Another powerful verse which says it all, explaining the importance of words and finding understanding is here.

My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart. Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman.  Proverbs 7:1-4

These verses, bring great power to the believer and their importance are beyond measure.  Herein is the difference in having a great life, filled with the power of God, an understanding which brings you the most important knowledge you could ever latch onto, or living a life of struggle, wondering why!  When you speak, good or bad is coming out of your heart releasing supernatural power to bring about fruit, either good or bad.  So, control your mouth and only accept goodness, love, into your heart.  This is the knowledge and understanding spoken of in the scriptures but the natural man does not understand these things.  A natural man who only looks at what is seen, who is not filled with the spirit, does not understand.

1 Corinthians 2:14 says it this way, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned.”

But you are filled with the spirit and if not then ask and it will be freely given, but ask in faith.  Live according to the knowledge and understanding which you now are taking in.  Then you will certainly be blessed!  Also, use your words to control your life; know that what you say, ask for, will be done.  For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: 1Peter 3:12  Until next time, be blessed!
