The Word and the Blessing

The knowledge of God, part 2

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2The same was in the beginning with God.  3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 1-4

This same Word which I am speaking of and John the apostle was speaking of was present at the very beginning of the earth and the bible. This is the same Word which “spoke”, all things into being, created all things.  This is God’s supernatural power in motion, the Word.  This Word is not merely text on a page but actually, “power’, ready to be spoken, put in motion. The scriptures go on to say that this Word was the very essence of the Christ manifested as prophesied.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14

In the same chapter it says this:

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John1:12

So, why all this scripture about Jesus if this entry is about, the Word and being blessed?  Because the commandments that Jesus told us are the greatest, which all of the law of the prophets rest upon are these.  Love God with all of your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.  Another scripture, the one cited immediately above is not to be read without truly realizing what it says.  This little short verse is packed with power and spiritual blessing for if you receive him, who is the Word, the Christ who became One with God, it says he gives power to become the sons of God!  The above scriptures also point out that Jesus is the Word made flesh.  But why does it say the word was made flesh?  What does this mean, the word became flesh?  It means the very power of God which is, his word, was in Jesus, was the very essence of him and therefore when he spoke, God’s supernatural power was released! Then the scriptures say that as many as received him became sons of God!  Glory to God, this is powerful!  This puts Christ’s power, who is the very essence of the word, God’s supernatural power into you when you receive him.  This is a surrendering of our ego, realizing that it is God, the Christ who is now in us. When we realize this then we know that we have absolutely nothing to fear!  No longer are we at the mercy of the world but are walking with the power of God in us!  This is when we receive also the, “blessing”, which comes from being a child of God, one who is walking not by sight, but by faith as we discussed in the chapter on, Faith and the Unseen, previously.  This blessing is the blessing of Abraham and his seed, his descendants, which also includes those who have been adopted into the family of Abraham by faith.

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that shall curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Genesis 12:2

This blessing which is bestowed on believers is spoken of in Galatians. This clearly lets us know that we too are blessed!

Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness, Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen (Us) through faith preached before the gospel unto Abraham saying; In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.  Galatians 3:6-9

Since Abraham was blessed because of his faith, we too become blessed because we have believed and received the Christ.  Then later on in the chapter it clearly states, The just shall live by faith. Gal.3:11.

This is why Jesus came, to get the Jews back on track, to show that it is the faith of Abraham that established the blessing. He not only showed this to the Jewish people but also showed the gentile, people referred to as those not aligned with the Jewish doctrine of laws, that it is our faith which brings the blessings of God.  This should open the eyes of believers to the power of faith, but some churches have not taught that if you have sufficient faith, anything is possible, that the Word is the supernatural power of God, that Jesus is the Word become flesh, so if you have received him, you have the very power of God in you ready to do whatsoever!  Glory to God! This is what gives a believer power and peace; for if you are walking with the power of God in you, then when adversity comes and we are foretold it will come, you will be armed with the Word of God ready to be spoken, that is, released, putting the very power of God into motion! Wow, how awesome is this! The dunamis power, the dynamic power of God ready to move in the unseen creating the seen!  Until next time, love and light to you all!

The Old Testament and The New

I was going to write about this at a later date but recently there has been some controversy about the importance of the Old Testament and its significance to us as believers.  This conversation was stirred by Andy Stanley’s comments about “unhitching” the Old Testament from the New in a series of sermons entitled, “The Aftermath” at the North Point church.

After listening to this I am certain that his comments were supposed to unite not divide us as believers.  His intentions were noble enough, it is simply that if you have studied the Bible in depth you know that the scriptures support one another. I am certain he knows this, he is a good man who is working hard to expand the kingdom; he was merely trying to get believers to return to the church if they were disturbed by something they read or heard was in the Old Testament.

Jesus came to fulfill the law not to abolish the law but he did so by clarifying that we are justified by faith.  He constantly spoke of, “faith”, being the reason for your healing.  Jesus also referred to, “as it was written”, referring to what is now in the Old Testament.  He came to show us that the same power at work for those of old, Abraham, Moses and the prophets is working as a result of faith for believers now.

Jesus came first to the Jews, preaching the “word” to them as prophesied in the ancient scriptures which is Isaiah of our Old Testament but at the time was recorded on various scrolls.  There were several different sets of writings at the time which were available, The Aramaic targums were probably what Jesus referred to when he was saying, “as it was written”.

The main point of clarity which Jesus brought was that of the importance of faith and love.  He clarified that all of the law of the prophets rest on the two commandments to, love God with all your heart, and to love one another.  If we do this and our actions reflect this, then good fruit will come forth.

Jesus came to set the record straight and get God’s people on the right track.  He came performing miracles with God within him, telling the people that he and the father where One and prayed that we too would become One as He and the Father were One.  With us all One, all things are possible! Love one another!

Faith and the Unseen

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Hebrews 11:3

One of the most wondrous revelations Jesus brought to the people of the world is that faith changes everything!  He told us time and time again when he was performing miracles that it was the individual’s faith in the power of God which made these miracles possible.  All things are possible with God, Jesus said, but you cannot see God so how do we make this work?  We must act in faith.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:6

In these scriptures in Hebrews the writer is showing that faith is the necessary element to walk with God.  So, living by faith is absolutely mandatory to truly say you are a believer.  For it takes more than simply believing that God is real.  James says it this way.

Thou believest that there is one God: thou doest well: the devils also believe , and tremble.

James 2:19

So, a simple belief that God is and that Jesus lived is not sufficient to live an empowered life walking with God. No, we must truly believe, get the Word, down into the very core of our being, the heart, then we will be able to walk in faith and asking whatsoever, in accordance with what is good, lovely and right, it will be done.  This Word that I speak of is not simply the text on a page, a series of letters, but the very living Word, which is spiritual power set into motion.  This is the living water Jesus spoke of which shall flow from within once it is established in your heart.  This is another powerful scriptural concept Jesus explained.  He clearly said when he was explaining the parable of the sower that the seed is the word.  The word has to be established on good ground within you for it to grow, then it will grow like a mighty tree and you will be filled with the word which brings spiritual power.  Glory to God, this is a magnificent truth!  Once this occurs, filled with the word and faith, anything is possible.  This is when people become, “doers of the word”, as spoken of in James.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.  For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass.  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.  But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.  James 23-25

This is what a real believer truly needs to be doing, being a doer of the word.   People who walk out of church unchanged, see you next week, kind of attitude are not grasping the spiritual power of the scriptures.  This is the man looking at his image and then forgetting what manner of man he was.  A person who receives the word, spiritual power in their life and then forgets what manner of person they now are, changed by the spiritual power within them is what James is speaking of here.  The word is spiritual power available to you and me, supernatural spiritual power!  Jesus said, greater things will you do because I go to the Father, paraphrased.  We are supposed to be walking in faith, with our ear inclined to God, that is listening to the still small voice of God within us, realizing that God Almighty, The Christ, is in us and we have the power of God available to accomplish His will.  What is His will?  It is what is good and loving, for God is love.  The scriptures say God is love, light and spirit and that God is in and through all things.  That includes us but many people walk according to the senses, that is according to only what the senses can perceive.  This is not living by faith.  Walking carnally, according to only what the senses perceive, is death.  You are already dead if you have no awareness of God and the spiritual realm.  Jesus referred to those as people having eyes that can’t see, and ears which do not hear, spiritually blind and deaf to the word.  So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.  Romans 10:17  There is an unseen realm where faith is substance.

Now FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1

So, once you realize that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him you are ready to move forward in faith and be a doer of the word.  The reward being God’s supernatural power in your life, ready to accomplish all things.  Glory to God, this is powerful!  This is available to you, right now!  This is the law of liberty James spoke of which frees you from the constraints of what appears to be.  What appears to be is according to the immediate senses, but we are working in the spiritual realm which changes everything, we are to walk by faith not by sight.  We must look beyond into the unseen, acting in faith, literally changing what appears to be into new circumstances, our petition to God.  This is the power of God, beautiful, majestic, awesome power!

I will go into the Word of God, which is spiritual power in motion further, soon.  It is important to get the Word of God deep into the core of your being, your heart, as the scriptures refer.  What comes out of your heart creates your life and circumstances.  This is a powerful spiritual truth.  Jesus said, by thy words thou shalt be justified and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew 28:37 Earlier in that same chapter when he was talking to the Pharisees he stated this mighty truth, “for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things; and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.” This being so, means that what thoughts you have within you will create, will bring forth, what it is you are containing within you.  This is regardless of whether you believe in God or not, it is a spiritual, unseen law.  Of course, when you get God’s word within you, you are thinking on things of God, those which are good and lovely, which will bless others so you see why it blesses you too.  How amazing this is!  Until next time, may you be blessed!

Commentary on “The Light”

Commentary on “The Light”

My last entry entitled, The Light, was about my father’s illumination I witnessed ,as a young soldier.  The astounding true story is also in my recently published book, The Realm, at http://www.amazon.com/Realm-Daniel-Mears/dp/1973382334 which was newly released in December of 2017.  This event proves several incredible realities.  The first being that thought moves in the invisible realm.  The light manifested as a result of thoughts of love being put forth from the individual.  When my father was putting forth these thoughts he was simply trying to do as Jesus instructed, love one another and God!  At first, he noticed how positively people responded when he was mentally enveloping them in love, realizing they too were spiritual entities made in the image of God.  Then, one day he felt as though he was in complete harmony with all of existence, energized and enthused, filled with the love of God!  That is the night the light began and stayed for decades until I believe, he was ready to go home to God.  He also returned to the ministry shortly after the light began, undoubtedly believing he had some wisdom to impart to God’s people.

So, thought brings about results of corresponding action.  Your thoughts matter and create your life.  If you are being loving, you will have corresponding action, people will feel this and respond positively.  Likewise, you can see how negative thoughts would also be felt and people would react negatively.  This puts you in the driver’s seat of your life!  This also works with, faith.  Jesus told people over and over, it is done unto you as you believe, your faith has made you well, it is because of your great faith.  Over and over, he imparted this knowledge of God to us.  This is part of the knowledge of God, but I will cover that another time.

The light also proves that God and the invisible realm are real.  God is light, love and spirit according to the scriptures and as I delved into this it all makes perfect sense.  The light manifested because of the love in the spirit!  Wow, how awesome is this!  The light came after the intense feelings of love were being poured forth from God who was filling his spirit.  This is huge!  The scriptures as I dove into them while I was researching brought revelation to how the kingdom works, just like Jesus said.  Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. So, we must be careful what we fill our heart with.  Our heart of course being the very core of our being.  Then, when your mouth speaks it is power in motion.  Knowing this a person can be much more attentive to what thoughts they are allowing in their heart, the core of their being, your mind, and what you are speaking, putting forth to others.  Until next time, love and light to all!

The Light

I had traveled down from the Presidio of San Francisco to my parents’ new home they had built in southern California for a little leave time.  I was serving in the military police and had been stationed in San Francisco for a year or so.  I loved where I was stationed, I had an incredible view of the Golden Gate, the bay and Alcatraz from my second story barracks window but the military is indeed the military so I was looking forward to getting away.   My parents were now empty nesters but I think they may have enjoyed the solitude in some ways.  Dad was working as an adult probation officer and mom was teaching secretarial skills at the college.  They were devout Christians who had been very spiritual for most of their lives.  Dad had previously been a minister; he had attended seminary in Kentucky where we all had moved and then had his own church.  Then my grandparents were having some medical problems so we were compelled to move back to California.

Over the years, my parents had some let downs in their prayer life.  My grandfather had a series of strokes which left him paralyzed on his left side and he no longer knew anyone.  My grandmother had died and at one point they prayed fervently for a dear friend believing they had at least mustered the faith of the proverbial mustard seed but he had died anyway.  This made them, dad especially, delve deeper into their spirituality.  My father I soon discovered had started looking at “religion” more abstractly, trying to, “do” as Jesus said and put the principles of loving one another into action.

So, I was at my parents’ home while on leave from the Army.  It was evening time and I was walking down the hallway to my old room when I saw my father sitting on the foot of their bed.  My mother was nearby and was crying.  The door was open to their room so I could clearly see my mom crying and dad sitting calmly at the foot of their bed.  I stopped and asked what was the matter.  My dad looked at her and then motioned for me to come into the room.  Then dad told me that mom wasn’t crying because she was sad but because she was emotionally moved.  I looked at him with an obvious question on my face waiting for the rest of the story.  He then explained to me that he was utilizing a process, he had been working on in accordance with a theory, where he internally would send people feelings of love when he approached them.  He would mentally envelope them in a field of love and realize that they also were spiritual beings and that we were all “One”.  He said by utilizing this method his clients, the people he had on probation, and others whom he had contact with were opening up to him in amazing ways.  They somehow could tell that he truly was concerned with their well-being so they confided in him.   He went on to say that recently while he was working on the new house he had an exuberant feeling come upon him.  The feeling energized him within and he felt in tune with the world. This great peace washed over him and he felt in complete harmony with all things.  That evening he said when he turned off the lights to go to bed there was a golden light flowing from him and that it had continued.  He said that was why mom was crying, obviously some sort of spiritual breakthrough had occurred and she was deeply moved.  So, I asked if I could see this and he shrugged giving me an I guess so, kind of look and switched off the light.  As he moved about the room a beautiful, golden light was flowing from all about him, it was like the light from a soft sparkler but with no noise from all about his aura throwing sparks about a foot or so.  I was astounded because obviously some sort of energy was coming from his body.  He contrarily did not seem overly astounded but was moved and humbled by the experience.  This light, he believed was in response to the feelings of unconditional love he was sending out.  He explained that he had been sending out these feelings of love for weeks but I know that he had been working on establishing a loving relationship with God, Christ, for years, even decades trying to do what Christ said, “love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself”.  I was amazed and awestruck at this lovely sight and it has stayed with me my entire life!  I know that my father had no motive for sending out these feelings of unconditional love other than his love for humanity.  This is very important because it seems when you are simply loving with no ulterior motive other than to bless one another, then you truly tap into the awesome power, the love of God!

Later, when I returned to my Army unit I received some letters from my parents and they were signed, “Love Mom and Dad” with “ZapZap” underneath.  They sent me some metaphysical reading material which looked at the scriptures from a different angle and we did not really speak much more about the soft golden light, the sparks.  I knew that it was related to the feelings of love that had put some sort of energy in motion, probably the very face of God.

Over the years I have told my children about this experience and their grandfather when they became old enough to understand about, “the light”.   This event carries great significance proving God is real, light, love and spirit.  It also proves our thoughts truly matter putting power into motion in the unseen realm which manifests in the seen.

After years of keeping this knowledge in the family, when I had a medical problem I decided to write it all down so it would not be gone with my passing.  It did not seem right to take this knowledge to the grave with me so I talked with mom who was also a witness about whether I should write about this and make it public.  She agreed that people should know there are supernatural events going on in the world, so yes, I had permission to write about, “the light”.   Mom is still a very devout, loving person to this day. I also asked her how long the light stayed and she told me until dad became ill.  So, it stayed active for decades until dad was ready to move on.  How powerful and amazing!

Daniel Mears is the author of The Realm, a spiritual book which tells how to live the abundant life and includes a powerful eyewitness account of, Chapter 7, The Event, his father’s literal illumination which lasted for decades!   The book also includes, Chapter 6, Opening the Door, what transpired leading up to, The Event, a true spiritual breakthrough.  There are some excerpts, from The Realm, Chapter 7, included in this true story.

The Realm

The Realm is not only the name of  my new book available at http://www.amazon.com/ap/B0785HQYPF but is also the name of this site where I shall delve into topics of, real faith, how to create the abundant life and many more.  This is an exciting time to be alive.  The Christian faith is exploding with new faith around the globe as the doctrine is awakening to the faith Jesus spoke of in the scriptures.  Each individual is a drop in the great ocean of God!  We are created in the image of God, each of us filled with creative power and the internal link to discover the kingdom of God which Jesus spoke of.  He told us in Luke 17:20 The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. This is what each person must first discover.  Once you become aware of this simple fact then the next steps will fall in easy succession.  Welcome aboard!

The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me! Each of us is a drop in the ocean of God!  With this realization, we realize that we are One with each other and God!  Just like each molecule of the ocean is separate, it is also part of the larger whole, the entire ocean.  We as individuals are like these, separate to create but part of the larger body.  Jesus used the analogy of the vine and the branches.  God being the entire vine and each of us a branch which produces it’s own fruit.  In The Realm, my recently released book I discuss how to create the abundant life and manifest good things in your life, as well as helping others.  Also in the book, Chapter 7, of The Realm, entitled The Event, tells the true eyewitness account of a powerful, supernatural event I witnessed as a young soldier when I was at my parents’ home on leave.  I have this story listed under, The Light, on this site so you may read the powerful story!
